In Alsace, Strasbourg and Mulhouse are the two agglomerations concerned with the establishment of a low-emission zone. These ZFEs were abolished on Wednesday evening by MEPs. "Social justice" seems to have taken precedence over environmental concerns.

Following the adoption by the National Assembly of the abolition of the ZFE, there were many reactions in the Eurometropole of Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), which had begun the process in 2022. The president of the community deplored the detrictness of a public policy which seemed to bear fruit.
