In a speech addressed to the country, President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella announced his intention to increase the transfer of the Colombia Mayor program to $400,000 pesos per month, a figure that would more than double the current shifts for most beneficiaries.
The president-elect said that his administration will reorganize public finances to ensure the continuity of the program aimed at about three million older adults and assured that the disbursements will continue while the necessary budgetary adjustments are implemented.
