A year after the first revelations of sexual abuse by the French priest and homeless charity founder Abbé Pierre, twelve new victims, including seven minors, have been identified. The Catholic Church and Emmaüs, the charity organisation founded by Abbé Pierre, have put in place a compensation fund.
A new report burdening Abbé Pierre. On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, a report by the specialized cabinet Egaé reports 12 new accusations of sexual violence against the priest. Seven alleged victims were minors at the time of the events, as reported by the weekly La Vie. In all, Abbé Pierre is targeted by 45 accusations.
