Summer holidays brought freedom and play time–hop-scotch, ball, skipping, cards, pretend, allies and concerts.  Three or four friends in our approved three-block neighbourhood.  Each day was essentially the same. Be home before the street light came on!   I forever recall my hurtful fall from the top of the slide at Skeleton Park.  The earth rushed at me and ouch!  Swings did not harm me though. They improved my imagination.  Some days we cooled…
