- On Sunday, a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the Kabal Police Station gate in Swat, killing seven people and injuring 18 others after police personnel intercepted him at the entrance.
- Terrorism in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has surged recently, with the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies reporting 154 deaths in July compared with 75 in June, representing a 105pc increase.
- Bilal Ahmad Faizi, spokesperson for K-P's Rescue 1122, said more than 15 injured victims were shifted to Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital, while DIG Malakand Syed Fida Hussain reported four police officers and two civilians were seriously wounded.
- The attack occurred while a large public protest against rising violence was underway at Kabal Chowk; DIG Hussain clarified the protest site was located some distance from the explosion, where security forces cordoned off the area.
