A return to the bigotry of decades past in anti-immigrant racism?
I live in Lakewood. When I moved here 50 years ago, it was segregated. Black people driving through were liable to be stopped. It slowly began to integrate and now has a fairly diverse population. It is a nicer place to live. Immigrants and people of color moved in, adding to our city’s culture. Many bigots moved away. Some former neighbors used the code words that Lakewood “has changed.” Glad they left.
