The Nuclear Electrical Company announced that Unit 1 of the Cernavod Nuclear Power Plant will be stopped controlled and disconnected from the National Energy System in the morning of July 28. The measure is a preventive one and was taken at the bottom of the very low level of the Danube, caused by severe drought.
The reactor had been shut down since 9 July because of the high heat. EDF had already had to stop this production unit 2 between 23 June and 3 July.
