Rare Exoplanet Orbits Two Stars at a Wild 90-Degree Angle

Peculiarities in the orbits of two brown dwarfs indicate the presence of something even more extraordinary.

Astronomers have found the strongest evidence yet of a planet orbiting a binary-star system at close to a right angle. The system is also unusual in that both stars are brown dwarfs.
