Denmark Inaugurates Rare Low-Carbon Hydrogen Plant
HySynergy uses solar and wind to produce about eight tonnes of green hydrogen daily, aiming to support EU decarbonization goals and expand capacity beyond 20 megawatts.
- Denmark inaugurated the HySynergy project, which will produce around eight tonnes of hydrogen daily using electrolysers powered by renewable energy sources like solar and wind.
 - The International Energy Agency noted that only four plants produce low-carbon hydrogen in Europe, with none exceeding one megawatt in capacity.
 - Jakob Korsgaard, founder and CEO of Everfuel, stated that the project will initially produce 20 megawatts but aims for expansions of up to 350 megawatts.
 - Korsgaard urged EU politicians to support the implementation of the EU's RED III renewable energy directive, which aims for at least 42.5-percent renewable energy by 2030.
