Charlie Dalin, winner of the most recent Vendée Globe in record time, recently announced that he was suffering from a rare form of cancer.
Despite the illness of Charlie Dalin, his sponsor, the Macif, maintains his commitment to sailing and aims at the Vendée Globe 2028 with the construction of a new Imoca: Sam Goodchild will be the skipper, Charlotte Yven, the co-skipper, and Charlie Dalin will play the role of performance consultant.
The Macif presented its new Imoca project for the years 2027-2030, with Sam Goodchild and a new boat that will receive the expertise of Charlie Dalin.
Five days after Charlie Dalin revealed his fight against cancer, the Macif announced on Monday that it would extend its engagement in Imoca until 2030. With a new boat, Sam Goodchild as a skipper and the Vendée Globe winner in an expert role.
