Israel is on high alert once again after an attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Yemen. Sirens sounded in many areas, including Tel Aviv. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the missile launch had been intercepted. The continuation of the attacks has raised tensions in the region again.

The Israeli military said it was working to intercept a missile fired from Yemen toward Israel, hours after Israel deployed its navy to strike targets in Yemen’s Red Sea port of Hodeidah. Israel has threatened Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement – which has been attacking Israel in what it says is solidarity with Gaza – with a naval and air blockade if its attacks on Israel continue.
