A Mercer County student has won the annual Smart 529 college savings essay contest
Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – A Mercer County student has won the 19th annual Smart 529 college savings essay contest. Noah Yearout, a fifth grader at Hope Grove Home School, was randomly selected from 15 regional winners. He wrote his essay about his goal of working as an IT Specialist when he grows up. Yearout won $5,000 dollars for his college savings account. Each finalist received $500 for their accounts.
