“I will be small, but I am strong.” This statement takes on special significance in the context of the Lerate council, which has faced, not one, but two expropriations in its history. The previous expropriations left many of its inhabitants in terrible situations, where some received as compensation nothing less than dynamite, with which they had to face the hard task of breaking the stones of the arid and barren lands that they had left.
