Thanks to the customs, a penny of Charlemagne and an old card given to the National Library

On 1 April, the customs authorities handed over to the Bibliothèque nationale de France, in Paris, two ancient objects seized by its agents. In 2024 alone, more than 22,000 cultural objects were found and identified.

A sou d ́or, struck under Charlemagne, and a mappemond, drawn around 1660, joined the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BNF) on Tuesday evening.
