Turkey has achieved record growth in solar energy. Installed capacity, which was 40.2 megawatts in 2014, has increased 641 times to reach 25,827 megawatts by the beginning of 2026. Solar energy production, which constitutes 20.9% of the total installed capacity, has also risen from 17 gigawatt-hours to 38,000 gigawatt-hours, while a target of 120,000 megawatts and an investment plan of $80 billion for 2035 have been announced.
