IMF welcomed the progress made in managing Lebanon ' s budget since the previous visit to the Fund ' s mission, stressing its commitment to supporting the Lebanese authorities in developing and implementing a comprehensive reform agenda, and noted that the conflict between Hizbullah and Israel had caused heavy losses to the Lebanese economy, with prospects for a significant contraction in economic activity during 2026.
Beirut: A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on Friday, stressed the importance of maintaining the existing reform momentum in Lebanon. This was during the reception by Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam of a delegation from the Fund headed by Ernesto Rejo, where the course of financial and economic reforms and cooperation between Lebanon and the Fund was explored, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister.
