A crackdown has begun across Streatham on the process of turning single properties into multiple homes.

It’s after residents complained to Lambeth Council about a loss of family houses, noisy behaviour and changes to the feel of the area. An HMO is a property rented out to at least three people who are not from the same household sharing facilities like a kitchen or bathroom. An ‘Article 4 Direction’ is coming into place on August the 11th which will give the council greater control over planning applications.
