Eleven workers with UN refugee agency, five IFRC members killed in Gaza
- Eleven UNRWA colleagues, including teachers, a gynecologist, an engineer, a psychological counselor, and support staff, have been killed in the Gaza Strip since October 7th. Some were killed in their homes with their families, causing UNRWA to express their sadness and grief.
- Additionally, five members of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies , including four Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics and an ambulance driver, have also been killed. The paramedics were killed when their ambulances were hit, and the ambulance driver lost his life while driving to treat the injured.
- UNRWA has reported that nearly 175,500 internally displaced people are sheltering in 88 of its schools across Gaza. These schools have been affected by airstrikes, resulting in their closure. The needs of the displaced, including food, basic items, and potable water, are being addressed by UNRWA staff.
