At around 7:25 p.m. on the 19th, an 85-year-old woman from Urasoe City was struck by a light commercial vehicle driven by a 77-year-old self-employed man from Ginowan City while crossing a city road in Makiminato 4-chome, Urasoe City. The woman suffered severe injuries to her entire body and was transported to a hospital in central Okinawa Island in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest, where she was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
