Ukrainian drone strike sets fire to hub of e-retailer Ozon in southern Russia
Ozon said it evacuated workers and rerouted shipments after the blaze, while regional officials reported no injuries and emergency crews battled the fire.
On Wednesday, Nov. 4, a drone struck an Ozon logistics center in the Adygea Republic overnight, triggering a fire. The company reported all employees were evacuated with no injuries.
Ukrainian military attacks on Oct. 28 targeted industrial facilities linked to Moscow's military-industrial complex, continuing a pattern of strikes on logistics sites in recent months.
Following the emergency evacuation, Ozon removed products stored in the damaged warehouse from its online store and will cancel orders that cannot be fulfilled.
Later that night, the Azot chemical plant in Novomoskovsk, Tula Oblast, caught fire following a reported Ukrainian attack; the facility has been repeatedly targeted by drones in recent months.
Ozon and competitor Wildberries together account for about 8.5% of Russia's GDP, making such logistics hubs significant targets. Head of the Adygea Republic Murat Kumpilov has not commented, and the Kyiv Independent could not immediately verify details.
