7 Suspects Arrested in Deadly Home Invasion in Mississauga
Seven men face charges including second-degree murder and manslaughter after a home invasion left one dead and two wounded, Peel police said.
- At about 3:47 a.m. on Oct. 1, 2024, Peel Regional Police say a home invasion in Mississauga left 55-year-old Ruo Zhao Wei shot and later dead, with seven suspects arrested.
- Police say the motive was robbery and four masked intruders forced entry, demanded cash and valuables, then fled in a white Volkswagen Atlas after shooting three family members.
- The months-long investigation, aided by Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario, used forensic analysis, warrants, and seized a firearm, charging seven Toronto men with murder, manslaughter, and firearm offences.
- All seven suspects remain in custody awaiting court dates and potential bail hearings, and authorities and the victim's family have urged the public to contact the Homicide Bureau or Crime Stoppers with tips.
- Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich said the victim's earlier public profile related to his wife Fang Lin's 2011 disappearance, which remains unsolved, and credited Peel police and partners for the investigation.
