A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with an elk on state Route 162 in Pierce County on Monday. The motorcyclist, identified by the Washington State Patrol as Travis A. Vanderford, 59, of Olympia, was transported to MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup for medical treatment.
