An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 struck Japan's Iwate Prefecture early Thursday morning, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency, News.Az reports, citing Kyodo. The earthquake occurred at 5:01 a.m. local time on May 14. The epicenter was located in Iwate Prefecture at coordinates N 39.8 and E 141.4, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The Japan Meteorological Agency said no tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake.
