Kyzir White joins the 49ers practice squad to address multiple linebacker injuries ahead of the playoffs; Cardinals pursue 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh for head coach role.
- The 49ers added veteran Kyzir White, 29, eight-year linebacker, for the NFL postseason ahead of their wild-card game at Lincoln Financial Field on Jan. 11.
- Plagued by injuries, the 49ers lost Fred Warner to a Week 6 ankle injury and Tatum Bethune to a season-ending groin tear in Saturday's 13-3 loss to Seattle.
- A veteran of 93 games, White has tallied 618 tackles, 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and six interceptions and spent most of this season on the Tennessee Titans practice squad, appearing in one 2025 game with three tackles in a 41-20 loss.
- The Arizona Cardinals requested to interview 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, but he cannot officially interview until the Tuesday after Sunday's wild-card game, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported.
- Saleh's prior head-coaching stint ran 2021-24 with the New York Jets, and there is a chance other teams will show interest in Saleh this month as six teams begin coaching searches.
