Four Terrorist Killed in Lakki Marwat IBO: ISPR

The operation targeted Fitna al Khawarij militants linked to banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, part of a counter-terrorism drive amid a 44% surge in violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials said.

  • On Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations said security forces neutralised four India-sponsored terrorists during an IBO in Lakki Marwat on the night between February 18 and 19.
  • Information about the presence of khawarij prompted the IBO targeting Fitna al Khawarij, the state term for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan linked to an Indian proxy.
  • Following the firefight, security forces launched a sanitisation operation in the Lakki Marwat area, and ISPR said, 'four khawarij were sent to hell.'
  • The operation follows a deadly assault in Bajaur that martyred 11 security personnel, and ISPR said security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue at full pace to wipe out terrorism.
  • KP has seen a rise in terrorist attacks in the past year, and according to the Centre for Research and Security Studies Annual Security Report 2025, fatalities increased from 1,620 in 2024 to 2,331 in 2025, an absolute increase of 711.
