April is Autism Acceptance Month. SSM Health Treffert Center Director of Behavioral Health Services Meg Puddy says it’s a global initiative emphasizing the importance of embracing autistic individuals and advocating for their rights. The prevalence of individuals diagnosed with autism has increased by 175 percent in the last decade and that number is expected to grow. Puddy says early diagnosis can make all the difference.
