Spectacular 1,600-Year-Old Mosaic, One of the Most Impressive Ever Discovered in Southern Israel, Unveiled to the Public in the Negev
The mosaic was discovered in 1990 in agricultural areas south of Kibbutz Urim, At the margins of Khirbat Be'er Shema. Following this, an archaeological excavation was conducted by Dan Gazit and Shaike Lender on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority. Afterwards it was covered to protect it intact.
