Pakistan Says Airstrikes in Afghanistan Killed 22 Militants
Pakistan said it hit militant hideouts with precision and destroyed weapons and ammunition, while Kabul and the United Nations reported civilian deaths and injuries.

Tensions between the two South Asian neighbors escalated after three months of relative calm, with Islamabad accusing Kabul of harboring militants who stage cross-border attacks.

The United Nations Mission in Afghanistan documented over 1,100 civilian deaths and injuries from cross-border violence so far this year, underscoring the humanitarian toll of ongoing disputes.
Pakistan denies striking civilians, maintaining its military operations target only militants who carry out attacks inside Pakistan; casualty figures from either side remain unverified.
Pakistan airstrikes on a new round of Afghan cities left nine dead, with Afghans condemning it as a massacre of innocent civilians, while Pakistan says the attack hit precisely the target.
