300 year-old Polish beech wins Tree of the Year contest

The win by Poland’s Heart of the Dalkowskie Hills tree marks Poland’s fourth victory in a row.

For the fourth time in a row, the plebiscite was won by a tree from Poland.

The Heart of the Dalków Hills has been chosen as the European Tree of the Year 2024. The beech tree growing in the historic park in Dalków received over 147 thousand votes, outclassing competitors from Portugal and Spain.

Heart of the Dalkowskie Hills won the plebiscite for the European Tree of the Year 2025. A total of 147,553 internet users voted for the candidate from Poland. These are yet another distinction for this tree from Poland. This time, the 300-year-old beech left its rivals from Portugal, Slovakia and Croatia far behind.
