Three officers were wounded by gunfire or shrapnel during a confrontation after tracking a suspect involved in an earlier shooting, police said.
- On Wednesday, three Omaha Police officers were injured and a suspect was killed after gunfire erupted at the QuikTrip near 32nd and L streets around 2:25 p.m.
- Uniform Patrol officers first responded to a midday shooting at Phil's Foodway at 3030 Ames Avenue, where a 61-year-old civilian shooting victim was critically wounded and officers obtained a license plate to track the suspect's vehicle.
- Hospital staff treated all three officers at Nebraska Medicine, with one discharged and two officers hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
