On Wednesday (13.00 a.m.) a sentence against the accused surgeon is expected in France's biggest case of child abuse involving 299 victims. Retired physician Joël Le Scouarnec (74) has been on trial in Vannes, West France, for a total of 158 patients and 141 patients aged 11 on average between 1989 and 2014. The prosecutor's office has demanded 20 years of imprisonment - this is the highest possible sentence.
