- The micromoon occurs when the moon is at its farthest distance from Earth, causing it to appear smaller than a usual full moon.
- NASA states the moon will be 251,939 miles away during this micromoon, compared to the average distance of 238,855 miles.
- This event marks the third micromoon of 2025 and suggests a unique viewing opportunity before the next full moon, the Strawberry Moon, on June 11.
