- An 18-year-old woman was gang-raped by two youths while returning from a birthday party in Jagatsinghpur district around 8:30 pm on Monday.
- The victim was intercepted and taken to a farmland about 400 meters from her home where the assault occurred, and her friend escaped during the incident.
- Police formed three teams to investigate, arrested the key accused on Tuesday, and recovered evidence including a mobile phone from the crime scene.
- BJD leader Priyabrat Mohapatra declared that they will continue to surround the SP office until all those responsible are taken into custody, while the police persist in their efforts to capture the remaining accused.
