For many students, studying at Delhi University is a dream. However, the problem of accommodation is growing day by day. For example, if DU has a student population of over 700,000, only 7,000 students are able to access hostel accommodation. This forces students to rely on PGs or flats, which creates numerous difficulties for them.
Due to the lack of hostel seats at DU, thousands of students are forced to live in expensive PGs and rented accommodations. Following the Satyaniketan tragedy, the need for safe and adequate hostels for students has again come under discussion.
