On October 12, 1449, the Battle of Tamaşeni took place in Siret, after which Bogdan of II became lord of Moldova. On the same day, in 1492, Christfor Columbus discovered America, and in 1808 the convention was signed by which Russia annexed Moldova and the Roman Empire.
