Macksville City Library celebrates 90 years
Over Memorial Day weekend, we celebrated the 90th Birthday of the Macksville City Library. Alumni and community members were invited to visit our growing space, look at old yearbooks, and peruse memorabilia from Macksville’s history and our 90 years of service. We also had a special author talk by Cheryl Unruh, MHS graduate, Class of 1977.
On Sunday, 25 May, the library team and the community celebrated the 100-year history of the library. 100 years ago, the Niedernberg library was opened in the rectory. At that time, the books were still distributed via the parish priest. Later, the library moved to the parish home. After the extended rooms on site were no longer sufficient, they moved to the "Sandsteinschule" in 1982, first to the ground floor, later to the first floor. In 2013,…
