100 years ago in Redlands: University of Redlands freshman dies after brief bout of polio

Nov. 7, 1925 Theodore Darby Jr., university student, dies at his home Theodore Darby Jr., 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Darby, 827 Alvarado St., passed away this afternoon after an illness of only two days, of infantile paralysis. It was not realized at first that his illness was other than an attack of influenza, and his death this afternoon came as a great shock to the family and friends.
