Lower Mainland Resident Allegedly Kidnapped, Taken to Kelowna, B.C.
Police say the victim was held against their will to pressure an associate, and investigators are seeking dash-cam footage from a white Dodge Ram Rebel.
On Monday, Sept. 28, Kelowna RCMP discovered an individual in the 400-block of Sands Court who reported escaping a kidnapping after being held against their will.
Investigators believe the victim was abducted from the Lower Mainland and brought to Kelowna to "exert pressure on an associate" in what police deemed a targeted incident.
Emergency Health Services treated the victim for non-life-threatening injuries, while the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit seeks information on a newer-model white Dodge Ram Rebel truck observed between 2 a.m. and midnight on Sept. 28.
Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Sands Court on Tuesday, detaining one man who was later released pending further investigation while the SCU collaborates with Lower Mainland agencies.
S/Sgt. Tim Russell of Kelowna RCMP Investigative Services stated the investigation remains in its early stages, adding that authorities warn of an ongoing public risk and seek surveillance footage.
