Savannah, Tennessee · SavannahA local girl realized a lit candle had been knocked over in time to keep her home from being more heavily damaged in the resulting fire Friday morning.
Hardin County Fire Chief Melvin Martin said the girl left the house with her father to go to school. When they stopped at a nearby store along the way, she asked her father if the candle could start a fire because she thought she might have heard it fall when she slammed the door to her bedroom.
