EADaily, April 18th, 2025. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (Security Council) on personal sanctions against 20 Russian cultural and sports figures.

Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree imposing sanctions on dozens of Russian public figures who, according to the document, support aggression against Ukraine. A popular circus artist was on the list, which enraged Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
