Real Salt Lake Blank Dynamo, Improve to 6-1-0 at Home
Zavier Gozo scored twice for his first MLS multi-goal game, and Rafael Cabral made four saves as Real Salt Lake earned a shutout.
On Wednesday, Real Salt Lake defeated the Houston Dynamo 3-0, led by 19-year-old Zavier Gozo's two goals in his first career multi-goal game in MLS.
Entering the match, the Dynamo held momentum after winning back-to-back games and securing four victories in their last five outings.
Houston midfielder Duane Holmes conceded an own goal in the 49th minute; Gozo then scored in the 57th and 64th minutes, assisted by DeAndre Yedlin and Stijn Spierings.
Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Rafael Cabral secured his second shutout of the season with four saves, denying the Dynamo any scoring opportunities.
The victory improves RSL's season record to 7-4-1, positioning the team favorably in their ongoing league campaign.
