Brandon Marsh, Bryce Harper Among 5 Phillies Named All-Stars for Philadelphia Game
Brandon Marsh will start in the outfield, and Bryce Harper was added as a commissioner’s legend pick among five Phillies selections.
On Saturday, Major League Baseball announced five Philadelphia Phillies players were selected to the National League All-Star roster for the July 14 game at Citizens Bank Park.
Outfielder Brandon Marsh secured a starting spot through fan voting, while Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Cristopher Sanchez, and Jhoan Duran were named via player votes and commissioner selections.
Schwarber leads MLB with 30 home runs, Sanchez posted a historic 50 2/3-inning scoreless streak, and Duran owns a 1.52 ERA with 21 saves tied for the National League lead.
Commissioner Rob Manfred named Harper a 'legend pick' to join the roster, while both Harper and Schwarber are considering participation in the July 13 Home Run Derby.
The All-Star Game arrives in Philadelphia for the first time since 1996, marking a historic moment as the city celebrates its baseball tradition during the nation's 250th anniversary.
