Young child shot in Sydney’s northwest
Police said five other people at the home were uninjured as investigators examine how the boy was shot.
- On Monday, an 11-year-old boy was shot in the face and neck inside a Norwest apartment, leaving him in critical condition. Emergency services rushed to the Fairway Drive complex about 5pm following reports of the shooting.
- Police established a crime scene at the Fairway Drive apartment complex and launched an investigation into the incident. "Initial inquiries indicate the shooting occurred inside the home," a NSW Police spokesperson said.
- Multiple NSW Ambulance paramedic crews and specialist medical teams treated the boy at the scene. He is expected to be transferred to Westmead Children shortly for further treatment in serious condition.
- Five other people were inside the Norwest home during the shooting, but police confirmed all remained uninjured. Officers continue to secure the apartment complex as the investigation proceeds.
