Level 5 Announces Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain Game for Switch 2
Level-5 is remastering Yo-kai Watch 2 with HD graphics and new Yo-kai for Nintendo Switch 2, the company said.
- Level-5 announced Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain for Switch during the English Nintendo Direct on Wednesday. This remaster updates the original game with high-definition graphics.
- The original title debuted in Japan in 2014, with versions titled Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls, and Psychic Specters eventually launching in North America and Europe.
- Series protagonist Nate—known as Keita in Japan—returns alongside Jibanyan and Whisper in the English-subtitled trailer. New Yo-kai also appear in this updated version.
- This announcement marks a return for the franchise, which has not seen a new release in the West since Yo-kai Watch 3 arrived in 2016.
- Past releases like Yo-kai Watch 4 and the Yo-kai Watch 1 port for Nintendo Switch established the series' modern console presence before this latest project.
