MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA, JUL 26 – Shengjia Zhao, co-creator of ChatGPT, leads Meta's new Superintelligence Lab focused on advancing long-term artificial general intelligence goals, as part of a major AI talent push.
- On Friday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Shengjia Zhao, a co-founder of ChatGPT, has been appointed as the lead scientist for Meta’s newly established Superintelligence Labs in Menlo Park.
- This appointment follows Meta's June launch of Superintelligence Labs to consolidate long-term AI research after underwhelming Llama 4 results and amid a talent arms race involving hires from OpenAI.
