Yan Diomande makes clear to Liverpool the hurdle faced to seal transfer
RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has signaled a preference for Paris Saint-Germain over Liverpool, dealing a blow to the English club's transfer hopes this summer.
Earlier this year, Diomande expressed a desire to play at Anfield for Liverpool to fulfill his father's dream of seeing him compete there.
After joining Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes last summer, the 19-year-old registered 13 goals and 10 assists across all competitions for his new employers.
Currently with the Ivory Coast national side, Diomande insists his focus remains on the upcoming World Cup campaign where they face Germany, Curacao, and Ecuador.
Diomande told Telefoot, "Paris Saint-Germain is a team I've loved since I was little," noting his French language skills would ensure a smooth adaptation.
Courted by Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, Yan Diomandé announced this Wednesday his special link with the club of the capital. The Ivorian from RB Leipzig is already planning, without forgetting the deadline with his national team: the 2026 World Cup.
