Yahara River dredging project threatens prehistoric structure near McFarland

Dane County has removed 250,000 cubic yards of sediment over five years to improve water flow and reduce flooding risks near a historic fish weir and dam.

A fish weir constructed of boulders and a pioneer dam are in a stretch of the river slated to be dredged this year just south of McFarland.
