Lawyers for Extinction Rebellion (XR) believe Schiphol is "taking law into its own hands" by imposing long-term bans on climate activists who demonstrated in the airport's secure area. Schiphol's lawyers made the same accusation against the activists in court in Haarlem. "They are taking law into their own hands, because they decide for themselves which rules they will and will not abide by. Schiphol has no choice but to intervene," they argued.
