Xinhua Silk Road: Anhui launches innovation and entrepreneurship contest to attract global sci-tech talents

Hefei, capital of Anhui Province, China, launched the 2026 Global Tech Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on Friday to accelerate the introduction of global sci-tech talent to the Grand Union .
Through the competition, organizers aim to explore a new talent introduction model featuring "competition experience-- short-term transition-- long-term settlement," attracting sci-tech talents to settle in Hefei while accelerating resources in the GUi.
Jointly organized by GUiTEK Service Platform and Global Alumni Affairs of USTC Innovation Valley, the event features three industrial tracks and offers a total prize pool of 4.2 million yuan.
In addition, organizers offer a "Dream Fund" incentive system worth 100 million yuan, while Winning teams that register and operate in the GUi within nine months are eligible to claim prize money.
Themed "Go with Dream," the competition is soliciting projects from overseas and out-of-province talent until July 31, 2026, with the preliminary round beginning in August and the finals in September.
