- Jinping told Trump that "Taiwan independence" and cross-strait peace are irreconcilable as "fire and water," warning that mishandling the relationship risks clashes and conflicts between the two countries.
- Meanwhile, the Chinese People's Liberation Army continues "gray zone" warfare tactics near Taiwan. As of 6 a.m., the Ministry of National Defense detected three PLA aircraft and six navy ships operating in the Taiwan Strait.
- Cabinet spokesperson Michelle Lee said the government believes actions that "contribute to regional stability and manage the risks posed by authoritarian expansion" should be viewed positively. Taipei remains in close contact with Washington during the Trump-Xi meeting.
- The Democratic Progressive Party caucus stated Taiwan's security serves the world's best interest, not just the US, and that deepening ties with Washington will not change from one meeting. Taiwan will continue cooperating with the United States and democracies to ensure regional security.
